Truvy’s Beauty Parlor is the heart of the small town of Chinquapin, Louisiana. Here, a group of regulars – Truvy, Annelle, Shelby, M’Lynn, Clairee and Ouiser – gather for a bit of pampering, gossip and lighthearted banter. These six colorful characters vary in age, disposition and circumstance, from Shelby, a hopeful young bride, to Ouiser, a cantankerous widow. Yet, as the women share laughter, tears, wit and wisdom, a powerful bond of friendship is forged.
