The House That Became Famous On Boy Meets World Is For Sale

As a child of the ’80s, I spent countless preadolescent Friday nights glued to the TV for that two-hour time block lovingly referred to as TGIF.

So imagine my sadness when I read that the home where I got to know some of my favorite characters, the Matthews family, is being marketed as a potential teardown.

That’s right: The home that was the face of Boy Meets World is on the market for $1.595 million, and agents Scott and Lisa Sorrentino of Rodeo Realty are marketing it as a “possible lot split, rehab or build new.”

The home is actually only the facade of the Matthews’ abode — where next-door neighbor Mr. Feeny guided Cory Matthews as he grew into a man and fell in love with Topanga.

The show’s interior shots weren’t shot in the home, but the thought of tearing the outside down is enough to make my nostalgic inner child wince (and the listing photos are charming enough to make my inner wannabe homebuyer sad — if only I had $1.6 million!).

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom Cape Cod with a two-story guest house sits on a 0.27 acre lot in Studio City, California.

Seller, 92-year-old actor Joe Campanella — whom you might recognize from Days of our Lives, The Mary Tyler Moore Show or The Practice — acquired the home in 2006.

And this writer hopes that a fan buys and preserves the home for nostalgia’s sake.
