Fireworks at the Field returns to downtown Springfield for a third year on July 4, 2013.  Fireworks at the Field is a community-wide Independence Day celebration hosted at multiple venues in Downtown Springfield, including Mediacom Ice Park, Discovery Center, The Creamery Arts Center and Hammons Field.

From 3 to 8:30pm, patrons will be able to ice skate and play on inflatables from Amberg Entertainment in the Mediacom Ice Park, create art and crafts at The Creamery Arts Center, and enjoy the hands-on activities of the Discovery Center. The Springfield Cardinals will host the Corpus Christi Hooks at 5:09 pm at Hammons Field and M-Dock Band will be the featured headliner after the game.  The region’s largest fireworks show will begin at Hammons Field at 9:45 pm.
A Fireworks at the Field ticket will provide admission to all activities and include a general admission ticket to the baseball game (a general admission ticket provides seating in the grass berm).  Tickets will be available for advance purchase on June 17, 2013 for only $7 per person (ages 5 and up) at all Springfield Price Cutter Supermarkets and Hammons Field.  The admission price the day of the event will be $8 per person.  Veterans and active military personnel with an ID can purchase tickets at the gate or at the Hammons Field box office in advance for $5.  Children under 5 are free.  Patrons who wish to upgrade their baseball game general admission ticket to a reserved seat can receive a $3 discount on any other tickets at the Hammons Field box office based on availability.
City Utilities will offer free shuttles linking all the participating venues and a wide variety of paid and free parking options will be available in the Jordan Valley Park area.
CoxHealth is the title sponsor for Fireworks at the Field.  “Every summer at CoxHealth we treat a number of fireworks-related injuries,” said Ron Prenger, CoxHealth Chief Clinical Officer. “We’re proud be be a partner of this event, so area families can safely celebrate our nation’s independence.”

Additional event sponsors include KY3, Midwest Family Radio, Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, Hoover Music, Great Southern Bank, Hollywood Theaters, the Downtown Community Improvement District, and AM Pyrotechnics.
